I've used it on Win7 but it's been a few years.
It does use a lot of RAM. Do you have enough?

Win7-64 machine has 64GB...so I am sure it is not a lack of memory!!

Yeah, Scott's right.
Went back to using the version from 2020. No biggie.

ReShade does interfere with ORTS Track Viewer - although mine will launch - it is unusable.

Hi Scott,

I appreciate you posting this again, and I have read a similar post from you in numerous places. But this is NOT the problem I am trying to solve. As indicated I am not using reshade or anything else. The problem is occurring from a vanilla install from a .zip file. Any indication as to why I get the error I do, would be most helpful.

Thanks,
Steve

Are you using OR 1.4 stable from the Openrails Web site?

What O/S version are you using?

Thanks,
Steve

Using Stable versions ( current 1.4 ) on OS - 7&10 64 Pro...trackviewer loads and runs, never have tried the MG version, although MG is all I use to run the simulator.
So...as I'm posting tried the trackviewer (MG 110.5 ) and no go...does not load. This is old news by now...but just thought I would confirm.

If you are using an NVIDIA video card, could you please tell me which driver version you are currently using?

Thanks,
Steve

Thanks for your effort with this. Could I ask you to tell me what driver version for the NVIDIA GPUs are you using? The Control Panel -> Programs should be able to tell you that. Note the driver version is NOT the same as the model # of the GPU being used. In my case it is a NVIDIA 1080ti, but the driver number is 386.xx, currently the latest driver that I can download is 412.xx from NVIDIA.

I never trust driver upgrades, so I will have to image/backup my boot drive before I install the new driver.

Thanks for your patience and help,
Steve

Yes, the newer drivers are proof to be very dangerous for performance: though they usually recommend to use newest drivers.
I have caught real problems, as I installed video-driver that was 8 years "younger", than my chipset.
So Steve is 1000 times right: we always should take care about backup and having distributive, before installing something new.

Yes you have the driver version numbers right, I have to do the work of imaging my boot drive before I try any new drivers!

Thanks for you help,
Steve
