Its been a while since I have been working with open rails, but I noticed that the dynamic brake setting is not being shown beyond the "setup" mode. I noticed this in the 1.4 version and the latest MG version. I believe at one point the cab display would show the current dynamic brake setting. Is this a bug or a change?
Edward.
Dynamic brakes cab display

It works here for the default Dash9 in ORNYMG 109, and I think it's the same for the official OR versions.

It only works on cab view elements set to display a combined throttle/brake. (IE: a "CPH_DISPLAY" instead of "DYNAMIC_BRAKE_DISPLAY")
For example, Dash 9 cab with a CPH_DISPLAY MULTI_STATE_DISPLAY:

Then the very similar ES44DC cab with a DYNAMIC_BRAKE_DISPLAY MULTI_STATE_DISPLAY:

The combined display detects the "0%" dynamic braking as dynamic braking, while "0%" does not trigger the dedicated dynamic brake indicator.
I'm fairly confident that this is just due to a quirk of the way the dynamic brake works: when you set the dynamic brake to Set-Up, the dynamic brake remains at 0%. Of course, this is complete nonsense-if the dynamic brake handle is at 0% then the dynamic brake should be OFF not Set-Up! But that's one of the many many things that is poorly configured in the dynamic braking system.
If I increase the dynamic brake even slightly beyond 0%, then the dynamic brake display in the ES44DC suddenly wakes up, it is only at 0% that dynamic braking fails to be detected.

Does official 1.4 work like ORNYMG 109?
By the way, at least for some .cvfs the .ace files with the various dynamic brake states don't have the OFF position (e.g. throttledisplayyel.ace for the D9).

The problem exists. I explained everything here: http://www.elvastowe...-display-error/
No one seems to have addressed it yet.

I'm a bit confused now. Borislav started the other thread on October 14th, 2020. Here edwardk sais that ORNYMG 101, which I think is only some months old, is OK?

The problem only seems to be present with cabs of the locomotives that have the Dynamic Brake lever and Throttle lever as separate controls. I've resolved this issue in the upcoming update for my Evolution Series cab. The solution is simple - I've put Alpha Channel over the "Set-Up" frame, so it no longer remains visible on the screen. This, however, means that once the Dynamic Brake has been engaged, we no longer see the "Set-Up" frame, but the DB shows B1 on the screen once they have kicked in.

FYI, I am still observing the original problem, as reported in earlier threads and also verified by Borislav.

You must excuse me, but I have tested the legacy GP38, that has separate throttle and dynamic levers, and that has a DYNAMIC_BRAKE_DISPLAY MULTI_STATE_DISPLAY, and I'm not able to see differences between OR 1.3 and OR 1.4.
