Hi Randy,

Man - that looks GREAT. Yeah - I noticed the swirlys in the last post - looks much better now. You truly capture quintessential Americana at its best.

One other tip - not sure if you know - is there is a special tool in the TSRE assets list called a "RULER" - it's invisible in ORTS but it shows in TSRE. What you can do - is use a ruler to define straight lines and polygons - you can then "Auto Paint" underneath the ruler the same way we do with the track or roads. It's helpful if you want to paint crop fields, rural roads, parking lots, small waterways, etc etc etc.

I was just running the Shasta payware route and they must have used them quite a bit - leaving them in - because the ORTS log file thew hundreds of errors about Rulers. In don't think there's any real issue leaving them in place - just an interesting note.

I should be back in FIOS range next week.
;)

Regards,
Scott

I've been doing some farming and have come upon a problem I didn't know about.

This is a 1024 .jpeg texture. Nothing fancy. The left side is "Put" using TSRE, the right is painted using the "Texture" button.
Has it always been this way? I've never noticed it before.

Randy

Hi Randy,

I don't know what you know - so my first thought is TSRE likes to downgrade tiles to 512x512 - any chance it gets. You can be texturing along and BOOM - one of the tiles changes resolutions - why this tile and not the rest - haven't a clue. I use 1024 for everything. The fix is easy - since all my basic unpainted tiles are 1024 - just grab one and "Place" it on the spot that flipped - then try painting it again. Usually works.

Regards,
Scott

I have found that TSRE lowers res to 512 on any patch that has been rotated, then painted on. So, when you place a patch, make sure you don't click a 2nd time or it will rotate 90 Degrees, click again, another 90, etc. As soon as you start to paint/texture, a rotated patch will revert to 512!

Hi Randy,

That first shot could be a painting on someone's wall.

:shock6:

Oh - for your night sky - are you running the HD one available in the TS FL? It makes a huge difference.

Scott

Scott,
Not a bad idea. About the painting.
And, yes I use the HD star field.
