Hi everyone.

Sorry for creating new topic, if it exists already.
I have found problem with FPS in all MG OR versions.

I have recorded video with that problem: https://www.youtube....h?v=opokN0QqgXk

It is not caused by low PC hardware in my case. I have Ryzen 5 3600 with GTX 1660S 6GB.

Where is the problem? Why is game running unstable? It does never run on 60 FPS smoothly.

Thanks, Lukas

Hi Lukas,

Welcome to Elvas Tower.

I don't see anything unusual in the youtube clip.

You would need to post the OR log file from your desktop to give us more information.

Hi,

if you look at the train engine and vagons departure in time 0:26, there is visible tearing the image.
In time 1:13 is it good visible too.

Some people say, it could fix setting FPS to 30 with some extern program, like Riva Tuner.

I enclose my log.

Old XNA version of MG runs on my PC nice and without any laggs.

Thanks.

You cannot expect to get 60hz all of the time.

It appears that the route is very demanding.

Again, I don't see anything wrong with the frame rate with that route.

But I don´t get 60 FPS although train is not moving.
FPS are getting under (and over) 60 [58 FPS, 63 FPS] FPS if train is stopped and route is not rendering in that moment.

Is the MG version so more demanding on performance then XNA version?
This route on XNA version is running stable with 60 FPS wihnout any laggs on my PC.

Thanks.

Hi lukas,
The only thing I notice at 0:13 in that video is the jerky movement of the train. The same applies when the train is slowing at about 1:13. When the train stops, the loco seems to be bouncing up and down on its suspension for a few seconds.

Cheers,
Ged

Yes, jerky movement of the train is what I wanted to show you.
The game is not running smoothly, but jerky, how you said.

Hi lukasj

I reported exactly the same behaviour about 18 months ago in this forum, but the general view was that there was nothing wrong. However, there was, and is, clearly something wrong. The key4 view in particular is inclined to be jerky, but using either the Testing or the Unstable version does not exhibit the same behaviour - they run smoothly. It appeared to me at the time that there was a problem with rendering, in that the rendering figure in ORNYMG tends to be about twice that in the other two applications. Can it be rendering twice? Is that even possible?

As a result I haven't used ORNYMG for over 12 months other than for the very occasional test of newly introduced features. Sadly, I certainly can't 'play' OR with this version, and given that the Testing version is now MG and seldom gives any problems, it is my goto version. This is a pity since I have been, and remain, a supporter of what Carlo has done for OR.

I also had this jerkiness in the F4 view with the Monogame version. I have a very high spec computer. The frame rates were fine but external views had mini stuttering. Solved the problem very easily. I found I had the Anti aliasing up fairly high in the game options and also had super sample enabled with the video card settings. Turned super sample off and also used the setting in the video card "Use application setting for AA' . All stuttering disappeared. Picture quality is great. This may be your problem also??? Worth a look.
Cheers Monty

Hi, thanks for reply. I tried it, but it still runs jerky.
