Numbers on locomotive not showing

Hi again everyone
I downloaded a file from train-sim named "up70m_N1" I am using 1 of the locos #5141 in a consist as a third unit. The loco loads alright but my problem is there is no number on the side of the cab. I checked the freight animation and the cab number shows up in Shape viewer but in the activity manager, the side of the cab is blank. Can anyone help me with this?

No Vince, there is nothing in the log file concerning that engine. I suspect it is some thing in either the shape file or .sd file. The .sd file has an entry of "ESD_Alternative_Texture ( 252 )" which I am not to sure about. I am just not that familiar with shape file.

"ESD_Alternative_Texture ( 252 )" is the problem...252 is, if my memory serves, for snow ( not an expert in shape&sd files). Try changing it to something else. Do a search of other sd files used by locomotives and pick the most common entry...which I think is zero.

252 is for seasonal textures (Spring, SpringSnow, etc.). 1 is strictly normal and snow. 0 is probably what you would want for most rolling stock

Thanks Gerry but changing it to zero didn't help.

Just tried adding "ESD_Software_DLev ( 2 )" which was not in the .sd file, but that didn't work either.

Just tried this loco on my system and it loads fine. I don't use '.sd' files with freight animations as they are not necessary. You only need them for the main shape file.
This is using OpenRails ver. 98.1

Hi,
The numbers, and other FA additions, for these locos show correctly when using MSTS, but they do not display when using any version of Open Rails!
No .sd file is supplied for the FA shape.
I have not been able to discover why, so must leave it to an OR expert. :)
Cheers,
Ged

I just checked and found I had them but never set them up...the numbers also do not appear using Goku's CE. The author of the files is Andrey Tucker-Wells who is a member here, perhaps he will see the thread and provide some insight. Meanwhile, I'll tinker around a bit. Hopefully someone who knows what they are doing will see the thread and provide some real help.
