Hi folks
First time using this forum so I apologize if this has been answered-don't see it addressed. In OR(not in Train Sim) when I start a Train I can see far distance come into focus and then disappear. When I start driving the train the visibility only extends maybe 500 ft. and than as I progress the scenery pops into place. I have tried changing the viewing distance but it doesn't make any difference. It basically makes OR unusable for me. Does anyone have any ideas? I have attached a screenshot taken on 3d trains Sherman Hill Route in Cheyenne, which should be filled with buildings.

In OR, scenery is in focus only for short distance

How much RAM does your system have? How large is your swap file? The problem may be insufficient resources. Does MSTS yield the same results?

What setting are you using for view distance? It'll go up to 10km. Your photo looks like 1km.

Open Rails>Options>Video there is a dialog box half way down the page for "Viewing Distance" try something like 5300 m, this looks like it's set to 300 m.

Check the Level of Detail Bias slider on the Options/Experimental page. This should be centered for full distance viewing.

Two things I would adjust,
You have the target frame rate at 240, change that to 60 and see if you can see more. I think this might be the cause.
The viewing vertical FOV is set to 45, change that to 60 or 65.

On the Experimental tab:
Be sure you don't have "Automatically Tune Settings......" checked.
