Hi !
I think that correction appeared with X4126, with allows preservation of water level after a save/reload has generated a new bug. If previous water level value is effective, reloading seems to affect "automatic fireman" comportment :
- After reloading, main injector remains opened, but with a null value, with as principal effect a quick decrease in boiler pressure which affects global performance.
- Problem can be "debugged" by typing Ctrl+F (manual firing), then injector 1 value is pushed up to 100 % ("K" key), just after reloading. New Ctrl+F and return to automatic firing seems to solve the problem. Action must be quick, because Inj.1 temperature decreases to ambient, also...
Hoping this observation is useful !
Cheers,
Jean-Paul
(Tested on two types of french steam engines - compound, I must precise. Don't know if the same occurs with simple expansion, but no reason that wouldn't be the same)

Try #4131 and see if this corrects the issue that you have identified.

Hi !
After a long run, I think whole problem is not completly solved.. I explain : if after a save/exit/reload, I got a convenient value of Inj flow, I remark that in this case, boiler pressure decreases regularly (staying in limits, of course, of boiler performance). Of course "oscillations" of boiler pressure are normal, but here, starting of 18 bars, pressure decrease down to 14.7 - 15 bar progressively (instead of 16.5-17 bar before), and even slopes - with "closed" regulator are not sufficient to re-increase pressure to previous value. I noticed that Inj1 temperature remains lower than before "save", which could explain this observation. With X4126, I never noticed this problem (but, that's right, water consumption was not saved). Not a major problem : it's possible to keep on decently with increased cutoff values, but enigmatic...
Cheers !
Jean-Paul

Hi !
I have tested X4133, in which - it seems - some changes in save/restore have been done. In fact, there are, with this version, no more problems with boiler pressure, but this is probably obtained because the two injectors are @ 0 % when reloading saved game... Main effect is that water level in the boiler decreases quickly, only way to solve problem being to control manually firing (Ctrl + F) and re-opening injectors (K and L keys), then returning to automatic firing. After this sequence, everything returns in order.
Really, I wonder how such a small correction on restoration of parameters (i.e. initially water level @ saving instant) could cause so curious problems, exactly "as if" AI firing had turned mad...!
Cheers,
Jean-Paul

Hi, Peter!
Just tested X4134 in two configurations :
- Medium power engine (around 1700 indHP), using only Inj1 for feeding boiler
- High power engine (around 4000 indHP), using both inj1 and 2 at full power.
I did "save/quit/restore", and in both cases, it works perfectly !
So, well done and thank you very much ! :bravo:
Cheers,
Jean-Paul

Thanks for the confirmation of the fix, and also for raising the issue.
