PROTOTYPE
The locomotive was one of about 4700 built by Vulcan Iron Works of Wilkes Barre,Pennsylvania.
These locos were designed for industrial, mining and logging on rough trackage.
This particular 3' narrow gauge 0-4-2 was the smallest of the 0-4-2 series.
MODEL
This model is based on drawings by Ed Gebhardt in the May/June 1993 "Narrow Gauge & Short Line Gazette".
Software used was 3DCrafter 9.3 Build 1620.
The engine is for OR only. Eng file uses format recommended by Peter Newell.
Cab details based on a YouTube video of a Vulcan 0-4-0 being rebuilt in Georgia.
The cab doors open and close with "Q "and "Shift Q".
A rear cab weather curtain for cold weather protection opens and closes with "Shift V".
Couplers are link & pin but do connect with knuckle couplers.
Water intake is at the bell. On prototype, bell was mounted on a hinged plate.
Entire bell/plate swung to the side for water tank access. Model does not swing.
There are two crew sets ( Vulcan-Crew2 and Vulcan-CrewF ) generously provided by Tom Werb.
They can be interchanged by changing the FreightAnim in the .eng file.
Keep in mind, this is a small engine that will work best in yard operations.
