.Obj does not support animation. .Obj however is a very widely used file format for 3d objects. .Obj could still be useful for static models like none animated trees, houses, power poles, etc. .Obj Specs Maybe one of these would be a better choice? (B3D/CSV/X)? They are used in another train simulation program. My link

I'm a fan of DirectX (.x) because basically anything can export in that format.
