With x3918 you now have to use 100% stretch . Anything less changes view towards right side . It all depends when the cab view coordinates are set in the CVF . If they were set with 0% stretch they will be on one side or the opposite one being set with 100% stretch .
Personally I don't see the benefit of recent changes .
You cannot change a 1.333 ratio ace to a 1.777 ace or vice versa without distortion . Either you run 0% and scroll down for bottom part of ace or change the 1.333 ace to 1.777 by adding some more of the cab to each side to include part of the side view . You are only stretching the width , not the height .
The ace will fill the screen when stretched to whatever % you choose but the ace remains at it's height ratio regardless so only the width is stretched . At 0% the excess is below screen area so you scroll to see it .
Correct me where I'm missing something in the changes .

Ok, here is what we have now.

This is what my 4:3 cab looks like in ORTS without this patch applied, but with custom made .cvf configuration numbers for WS monitors:

Picture 1a - scrolled all the way up:
Attached Image: B1.jpg

Picture 2a - scrolled to the middle:
Attached Image: B2.jpg
Picture 3a - scrolled all the way down:
Attached Image: B3.jpg

This is what the same cab looks like on WS monitor with this new patch applied:

Picture 1b - scrolled all the way up:
Attached Image: S2.jpg
Picture 2b - scrolled to the middle:
Attached Image: S1.jpg
Picture 3b - scrolled all the way down:
Attached Image: S3.jpg

As you can see, the distortion of the outside look depending on the position of scrolling is significant with the patch applied, while it's only minor without the patch, but with the custom made .cvf file.

Therefore, I don't like the result of the patch :(

Sorry, but, as James says, having 4:3 cabviews tailored for 16:9 monitors is not the solution. I'd like to see what occurs on a 16:9 monitor with a 4:3 cabview tailored for 4:3 monitors. This is the aim of the patch. Anyhow I'll check if the (empirically determined) rotation speed coefficient must be adjusted after the patch. Can you attach here your front cabview .ace file including dot and segments on the glass?
By the way are you using x.3917 or x.3918? x.3917 contains an error.

Try replacing in x.3918 these two files

17/8/17: files deleted because new version available (see further below)

I am using x.3918.

I downloaded and installed those two files. The things look much better now, but still not as good as with custom made .cvf file.

Here are screenshots:

Scrolled all the way up:
Attached Image: S1.jpg
Scrolled to the middle:
Attached Image: S2.jpg
Scrolled all the way down:

You can see that the vertical offset of the "target" is still greater than the one with my custom .cvf file, but better than the one in your previous patch version.

I cannot upload my .ace file used for testing here. I'll send it to your email address (I think I still have it from our previous correspondence regarding Tractive effort bar).

OK, thanks to your testing .ace I could trim better the rotation speed coefficient.
Try with these replacement files in x.3918 or x.3919.

18/8/17: file removed because patch uploaded.

Installed, tested = works like a charm! :) Thank you!

That's good! uploaded in x.3920. This version also manages using with greater aspect ratio cabview textures with aspect ratio different from 4:3.

Thanks James!
There are still two points which need implementation, and both are not straightforward for me:
1) the parameter which links external world rotation with cab texture scroll has now been optimized for the most frequent use, that is 3:4 texture shown on 16:9 monitor with preset 45 degree FOV. However this parameter is variable, and depends from relationship of aspect ratios and FOV. The law should be determined on an analytic way, and then implemented;
2) the case where a texture with a certain aspect ratio is shown on a monitor with a lower aspect ratio should be handled (e.g. 16:9 texture aspect ratio on 4:3 monitor). In this case a texture horizontal scroll and a rotation of the external world around the Y axis should be implemented. Alternatively one could think at a representation with an upper and a lower black bar on the OR window.

Both points will be tackled only if some good idea appears.
