This is a repaint of the 3D Trains NYC freeware units in Seaview paint. I have no current plans to release this trainset.

Toward the end of steam that combination was fairly common between Alamosa and La Veta on La Veta Pass, as well. That would have been something to see and I did know a couple of people who were firemen on the L-131's in that helper service. They had great memories of all that.

One of my great memories was going to Burnham Yard with my Dad on a Sunday afternoon in the mid-1960's (we had permission, as my Dad did business with the D&RGW back then and knew a number of the railroad officials). Sunday was a slow day back then and there were dozens of F's, plus the then brand new SD-45's (so new that the paint still smelled on them) idling away in the yard (back then, the prime mover was never shut down between 30-day inspections, but would just be left idling). I also saw, up close, about a half dozen F's that had been thoroughly wrecked in a derailment and that were awaiting repair or scrapping. I get a little wistful when I think that my Dad passed away 27 years ago, the F's are nearly gone from existence, and, now, Burnham yard is nearly scrapped. What I have is those memories of that spring Sunday over a half-century ago, when I and the world were a lot younger. I might just have to spring for some Grande F's and a GP-9 and make myself an MSTS/OR Perlman Mallet. In the meantime, maybe someone could post a screenie of a Perlman Mallet?

Sweet shots on the Buffalo.

A lot of talk here on the ex-Wabash F Units of the N&W. What a lot of people don't know that in the late 1960's, some of those N&W F's were leased to the CNJ during their power storage. Some were leased from the B&O too. They were mostly used on the High Bridge Branch but sometimes used on the Southern Division to in A-A form with a Geep or RS-3 unit on the end of them. They were used on the main too & Pennsylvania duties also until operations ceased in 1972. A-A made it easy on the Southern Div. for no turning & the Geep (7 or 9) or RS-3 performed the switching duties. The B&O's were stenciled over with a Liberty Logo & renumbered but doing that to the N&W units would have violated the lease terms. So it was cool seeing foreign power in Lakehurst (I seen it only once in 1971).
