ORTS Vibration Issues.

When using these locos (by Frank Musick and Tim Muir) in the latest WIP edition of Open Rails there is a disconcerting wobble, or oscillation, of the body. The bogies remain firmly seated on the track but the bodies themselves set up this strange movement.
Any clues as to what could be done to correct it would be appreciated.
Note that these items have been around for quite a few years now so maybe there is something in their makeup which just isn't handled by the current build of Open Rails.
I think we need to work on a solution other than 'turn off the vibration' as some of us quite like the realism of it.
The Vibration should be more of side to side swaying motion than a see-saw up and down motion.

Maybe the bodies are animated to simulate the wobble, but that effect coupled with OR vibration is exaggerating the effect...??

The models in question are by Tim Muir, reworked from an original by Frank Musick. The problem is caused by how the model is presented, bearing in mind that this was made many years ago in three parts to fool MSTS. The declared carbody length is only 2.1 meters, whereas in actuality it is probably more like 12 or 15 meters long, not really a fault of the vibration code. No vibration and the model behaves just the same as it did/does in MSTS.

I believe there is in the code a test that disables vibration for cars shorter than 1 meter because of problems like this one. Apparently this threshold should be increased a bit...

May there be a parameter for WAG/ENG to permanently disable vibration if present in line or at least level numbers to choose a cars condition of vibration (good example for cars with flat spots.)? Rigid couplers disables slack so why not?

Actually I am thinking a complete new set of eng/wags done up for ORTS would be the best option. If the dang setting is only 2.1m then it should be reset for 15m and the couplers and bounding boxes corrected.

ORTS does not use the bounding box, only size AFAIK. I have made size changes in the eng file, but this results in a locomotive that is great for light engine, but useless for anything else because the trucks have to be made so short in the eng file that shapes run over each other where coupling takes place. To get an acceptable visual model with vibration turned on, the carbody shape has to be made longer in the eng file and the trucks made shorter to compensate.

Replacing this .dll in x.3757 increases the no vibration threshold to 2.5 meters

This however has to be approved by James, as this is a part of code he follows, and moreover I wonder whether a 2.6 m long trainset showing the problem will jump out...
