Is there anything special to setting up a multiplayer besides opening the port you want to use, clicking SERVER in ORTS and telling your friend the IP:Port combo? I'm at a loss as to why a friend can't connect into my SERVER play.
He either gets "connection lost" or he gets to connect in as Dispatcher even though I'm running as Dispatcher...
Any ideas?

It's simpler if you use as server the tsimserver http://www.tsimserve...ServerInfo.html , connecting both as clients to such server. The first being connected automatically becomes the dispatcher. Take note that port numbers change with time, so before connecting check which port numbers are currently active.

I know that is easier, but as a server guy, this should've been a piece of cake for setup. This server, at first is for him and I to go back and forth testing in world stuff and just playing around. Somewhere no one else knows about.

Tsimserve lags too an takes too many trys to connect as well as ports. Having your own server an close to eachother should be very simple an easy to connect.

yesterday with ipconfig , it is did for finaly testing multiplayermode.
this on local home LAN and WIFI, but it is better to use CAT5 cable, sometimes connection is broken
and there is no reconnect system for multiplayer.
