A first release of this feature has been uploaded in x.3301. It works as described in post #1.

Nice new addition. But one thing for the future is would it be possible for one to have the option to tie trains down without allowing AI movement to take over an run away when we may decide to park then come back or just not allow movement? Like example when we tie units down by turning units off, cutting out MU connections or applying Handbrakes means AI can't go what so ever anywhere when those options are applied.

Will the manual be updated including this new feature? Also what's the progress on cruise control feature?

Done. I'll do the same in some other threads.

The manual will be updated. However the info will be the one present in the first post of this thread.

I'm not working on cruise control. I don't know if someone else is doing that.

Uploaded release 3305. Now switching to static consists is possible also in multiplayer mode (only to the server computer), when it is in activity mode. Related info is correctly transmitted to clients.
Maybe not all combinations have been identified and tested...

Log after error with uncoupling helpers and try to drive them on side track.

This in effect was a case which didn't come into mind to me and so I didn't test it. I was able to reproduce your crash. Pls. try x.3306, it should work. You can resume from your old save.

I've been trying this with an activity on the RMD East I and II route. I switch consists to the helper consist to pick up the helper locomotives at Whitehall. When I attempt to couple the helper locomotives to the rear of the player train, I get the attached error message. I've followed the instructions in the post above to the letter. I'm not sure what is happening.

Thanks.

Can you tell me the sequence of events and commands you had and at what moment you got the crash?

First, I pressed Ctl+F9 to switch to the static consist, then Shift+F9 to enter the loose consist cab, freezing the player train (which it did). Then I backed off of the siding onto the main track (manually throwing a switch to the main; also, the loose consist locomotive was facing the opposite direction of the player consist) and backed to a coupling to the player train. The crash and error report occurred at the moment that I coupled to the player train.
