In inside view. (5)
the sound of the tunnel
starts when the locomotive enters in tunnel
even if we are at the end of the train

That should have been cured. What release of OR are you using?

Hmmm. I have just run a test on X3162 and you are right, the track sounds are out of sync with the cars again. I will try to find out what has gone wrong.

Interestingly, this problem only shows up when OR is compiled as a Release version. When it is run compiled as Debug, the sound appears always to be in sync with TrackSound changes. Release versions will run faster than Debugs and will have more optimisation. Irritatingly, when Trace statements were inserted in Release compiles, the resultant slight delay also resulted in the sound performing correctly. I've therefore had a bit of a headache trying to pinpoint the problem which is some sort of timing issue. I've located the offending code and am testing for a robust solution which won't depend on the power of the machine OR is run on.

I'm still working on this and it's proved to be a flaw in my logic. I didn't think some situations through fully. After going round in circles for a while I think I've made progress with some promising tests. I hope I can clear this up in the next week but my time is being diverted by the good weather and resultant outside chores.

Sorry for the delay, I've been on holiday and this problem has taken many hours of testing. The problem does not manifest itself when OR is compiled in debug mode on my machine and when trace statements are added in release mode the problem disappears! I have now settled on a patch, which after all the testing is effectively only one line, and will create a bug report with it attached today, hopefully.

Palatino,
can you pls replace the attached Runactivity.exe and RunactivityLAA.exe (I have generated them with the patch provided by Dennis) within the standard release x.3196 of OR and validate that the problem has been solved? If it is so, I can upload the corrected Sound.cs file.

Carlo,

I'm terribly sorry - I've uploaded a bad version of the patch, it has a misplaced var statement and OR crashes as soon as a train moves. Attached is the correct version, I'll also put it on Launchpad.

Again, many apologies

Dennis

Not so bad Dennis,
this happens with SW :) I have regenerated the two runactivities.
