In MSTS exit on spad is probably needed due the dumb signaling system, which would be blocked anyway forever, but OR can handle this.

Here on Indian Railways, one can pass a red signal in Automatic Block Teritory. But on Absolute block signalling, the procedures of SPAD are almost same as that of Austrailian as explained in previous post. :ireful2:

Youtube has some pro vid clips about SPADs, might be worth viewing. I think they're related to read incidents, which are re-enacted for training purposes.

I like the SPAD the way it is now. I can, however, appreciate dforrest's position regarding SPAD.
I would hope in the future OR could evolve to a point where it could offer options to the experienced operator. ( I am definitely not in that group....yet).
Where there would be consequences to bad operating procedures, failure to operate equipment properly, running through switches or signals. Brakes or equipment could fail because of misuse, the activity would stop and you would have to restart.
For most of us those options would be a problem but for the experienced operator they would provide a stimulating challenge.
