Some more fixes, can you spot the differences?

I was thumbing through a 1977 issue* of MRR, when I chanced a helpful pipework diagram, that had enough info to solve the WHP pipework dilemma. It was a lucky chance, as I chose the issue randomly.
Seems like I fluked the right idea, but it requires an alternative breather.
Such is the modeller's luck. http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/thumbup3.gif NEVER throw out old mrr hobby magazines, specially the 38 years old sort.
Cheers Bazza.
*Sept' '77. This issue has an article about computers, the early sort, with everything on one board. I had an Ohio Scientific, C1P 16 k RAM, 300 baud Kansas Ciy interface to a cassette tape machine, RF video out (b&w), onboard QWERTY onboard keyboard, in a metal brown and beige case.

As far as I know - :) - every polyface is textured, so it's near time for assembling the odd bits into the heirarchy and processing (shape and textures) and a test run. This is always the most fraught part of the process, will it all work! http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/dry.gif MSTS was definitely more stressful than OR, because OR lets you down gently, whereas MSTS bit your bass.

Click on for bigger pic. This is the latest render, nice lighting, but that's not how the sim lights an object. I fixed the WHP plumbing. I retextured the cab side window frames, but this just makes the front and back windows look awful, so that's another 'fix' to add to the neverending list. Now you might understand why we asset makers get a little attached to our subjects.

Nice, I really like that last render! It's always interesting to see the modeling process in action.
Out of curiosity, what do you mean by WHP? A Google search returns wheel horsepower--but I can't imagine that's what you're referring to. http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/smile.gif
Thanks,
Eliot

Hi Eliot,
WHP is a timesaver for Westinghouse Pump, WHC = ditto compressor.
The modelling process depends how creative I feel, on a per day basis. As I've mentioned on other occasion, you spot 'new details, or decide to fix stuff that's annoying. Often fixing one thing makes you unhappy about something else, which means another bout of fixing, which means.....etc.
Cheers Bazza, off to fix something that's annoying me http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/unknw.gif "!?" http://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/fool.gifhttp://www.elvastower.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/excl.gif

If you are an experienced modeller you might recognise this situation. It's well after midnight, things seem to be going smoothly. Then after the final save of the night you decide to check the model with a final render!! OY!:ranting:
I'll dedicate this BB Boo Boo to Herb, it's his favourite colour scheme.. :pleasantry:

Hi Cap'n,
That is quite the little gem... Kind of reminds me of the stuff you would see on the old Ma and Pa... I find it amazing that you can do it without plans as I'm strictly a dot-to-dot modeler... Nice offering to share your source code as well...
Regards,
Scott
