Found the problem Rob! As you suggested the consist is faulty. When the brake van is swapped out, train 4 reverses into the "platform" as expected.The brake van has a passenger view, and maybe OR takes this as the active, but unpowered loco on the direction change.
I`m sorry I concluded that the OR dispatcher was holding the train and that a callon command was needed. I`ve run some tests in timetable mode, and there is no problem reversing into sidings with active trains on adjacent tracks.
However, callon looks to be very useful. I have a nearly working callon signal script. I still feel many users would need a full example script, either in the manual, or as a download with a simple signal model.
