Hi Folks,

I changed the rolling stock back to the original with the exception of the BLW Locomotives...

Same deal - AI Train passes in front of the station - seems to be the trigger - activity crashes...

I still get that can't write to log error - maybe I just need to delete the log on each subsequent restart ?

Regards,
Scott

Hi Gerry,
I'm going to try and switch back most of the stock to what came with the route - do you have the BLW L&N Pack ?
Regards,
Scott

Yes, I do. Just got back online an was going to resume running the activity, just for fun to see what happens. I saw the smoke in the other thread, YIPES, I only run the friday release so maybe I won't see that in X2883.

Hi Gerry,

Well I think I've isolated the problem...

I tried redoing the path from another direction - once the AI train gets close to the Player train - different spot - the activity crashes... So I tried dropping the BLW FA2's and tried different locos - the BLW C420 - same deal - crashed when AI gets near Player... Finally - I tried the Freeware BLW F9's that aren't part of the pack - no crash - it worked fine - I ran it several times this way to prove it... So I tried some of Dick Cowen's original locos - they didn't crash either... I put the BLW FA2's back in front - crashed again...

So - ORTS is choking on something on these specific locos... I'm getting bleary eyed - been working on physics and this crash most of the day - I'm about done for tonight... Really appreciate the help... I'll look at this again when I get some time...

Have a good night...

Regards,
Scott

Scott I just ran it with the first AI traffic SCOMainlineW finishing its run, went right past Player without a hitch.
My bet is that it is one of these: (although - it ran when you switched engines - curious --- I gotta hedge my bet a little)

My consist is exactly the same as yours except for the above. I had all the other stock and just replaced these. In fact I had everything. I had previously changed the player engines some months ago to BLW's.
I'm running the BLW FA2's 309, 330 and 300 LNs. Have not adjusted the smoke yet, still making smokeballs.

Have a good evening.

Hi Gerry,

Thanks for going the extra mile - literally...
:)

Yeah - I bought this route years ago but didn't use it much - it's kind of growing on me lately - as I've always enjoyed coal ops... Taking a little break from my steam locomotive modeling to actually run some trains - when modeling you never really run trains other than to test your work... The tracks has been upgraded to DB Tracks with some scenery improvements... I just added some more terrain to fix some of the edges and added Distant Mountain for the whole route as well (DM adds so much to a mountainous route - don't know why Rich would have omitted them).. So it is modified a bit from default... Maybe something was messed up - it just seems weird that it only affects certain locomotives on my machine...

I think I tried swapping out those cars - and - replacing them all with the default Cumberland stock - but - let me check again... I thought maybe it was a resource issue but I didn't think to check the resources in the HUD near the time of failure...

Obvoisly it works on your machine... I'll play with some more when I get some time... If I produce anything decent - I'll send you my activities...

The diesel smoke issue was fixed by Peter in V2889.
