The problem though could be caused by a noisey motherboard PWM controlled fan. It may be worthwhile to go into the bios an make sure all fans are on fixed RPM's.

I found out yesterday the noise is coming from the liquid cooling pump on the computer's cooling system.
I guess I need a new cooling system.
