He's referring to the echo that follows after the horn is blown. Notice it is the actual pitch of the horn and not the Dopplered pitch. It would be nice to have echos somehow built into the sim. Very hard to do I'm sure. :D

Echo effect would be amazing, if at all possible. Imagine the effect of a loud crisp stack echoing in the hills.

OK, so what is requested is not Doppler, but echo. Hard task I think... Are there computer games where this is solved at runtime?

I do know that when I played need for speed way back a long time ago, the horn would echo when you entered a tunnel. That's another place where echo would be nice.

In fact OpenAL can do echo IIRC. Need some research in docs.

There is so many variables in echo, it would be tricky. Being a whistle and horn owner and builder, I study these variables a lot. What affects the echo largely depends on the topography of the land, as well as various objects. Atmospheric conditions and wind also affect it.
