Thank you for the patch; I have added it (unchanged) in X1963.

Great thanks James!

I have to admit, I'm loving the fog! It adds a whole new dimension to operations, you really have to know the line! Things become mysterious as they fade into the mist. I do think that it might look better if just a tad bluer, colder looking.

and a bit cooler looking, I added a bit of blue and cyan in Photoshop.

Being able to adjust this on the fly is great, I like coming down out of the mountains and bumping up the mist gradually as I approach the seashore port.

Thanks for adding this.

Hi,

Thanks all for your feedback. As for the color, I will check the point. It is likely that the solution will include more than just a change of the fog color. Namely, while working on the fog improvement, I found out that the orange tint added (to the sky only) at sunset/sunrise creates a weird and ugly coloring effects on scenery objects. It is not yet clear if this is only an optical illusion or a real effect. To obtain a clean result, I had to significantly diminish this orange coloring when the density of the fog increases.
Notice though that for the time being, the fog color is neither cold nor warm: this is just a neutral grey.
This point is worth being investigated in any case,

Regards

I was wrong: change the fog color is easily doable! :D

This might be a stupid question, but which keys are used in order to change the fog/mist. I can't find the information in the readme.
I believe, I have used Ctrl + (+) before, but it doesn't seems to work (for me) in Revision: OR X 1955.
You guys are all doing a great job with the development of OR, thank you :D.

Regards Claus

You can see them in the Help window (F1) if you scroll down.

  • Control =/- does the overcast effect.
  • Shift =/- does the fog effect.
  • Alt-P cycles between clear, rain and snow.

I've noticed that fog doesn't seem to affect smoke, which leads to some rather strange looks!

On resuming a saved session I found that the fog has miraculously cleared.
Any chance of including the wheather settings in the 'save' data?
