Since v1800 there is a new feature: Car Operation Window. It has been initiated by a compatibility request for an individual handbrake control. In addition, there are two more functions:
1) Toggle power on/off - it means you are allowed to control PowerOn status of electric and diesel locomotives in a consist individually. It is independent of "P/shift+P" or "Y/shift+Y", thus you may experience a different behavior. Please remember that P or Y (and shift+P and shift+Y) is a toggle function too. Thus, using shift+Y may invert all the statuses of locomotives in a consist.
2) Toggle multiple unit signal connection - you can disconnect a locomotive from the MU signal to have it "powered" but not to produce tractive force. You can watch the MU connection status on F5 Locomotive info page.
How to popup the window? Just click on the car number in F9 vindow :lol2:
Known issues:
Multiplayer:
- the system is still not able to have individually controled helper locomotives!
DEMO:
3 DE locomotives
- 1st Power On, Throttle set
- 2nd Power On, Throttle zero
- 3rd Power Off, Throttle set (no effect - diesel is off)
Car Operation Window Available by clicking on a car ID in the F9 window

Just to move the discussion here:
Thank you for the feedback - I will check this.

To Matej: I've tried it, thanks for the feature!
I kindly ask you to explain a bit more how this works, referring to engines powering on/off.
I wasn't able to find a relationship (if any) between MUed state and the Toggle Power/Shift-Y command, that is while Toggle Power is Always active only on the selected engine, Shift-Y is Always active on all helpers together. Is it wanted so, that is no relationship between MUed state and power command? Anyhow I found something I think should be corrected: if I have two helpers with engine on and I toggle power with the new window to the first one, the first helper becomes unpowered and the second remains powered. This is OK. But now if I press Shift-Y the two helpers toggle power in the opposite direction, that is the first helper returns powered and the second one becomes unpowered.
Moreover the sound management does not always work correctly. About this I see line 913
just before lines that generate the sound events, that refers to MUed state. This seems in contradiction to what I have written in the first paragraph, where I noticed no relationship between power on/power off commands and MUed state.

Sounds ike a great Addition especially when doing switching activities. ;)
Just, may I add some suggestions: Would it also be possible to integrate the brake hose (dis)connect Options into that window? Only having the Keyboard Switches available can be somewhat hard to use, especially since they always disconnct Brakes hoses on the whole Train. Adding to that, in reality brake hose angle cock opening can be handled in a way as not to have the Train go into emergency. Could that be added too? (It´s quite annoying, IMHO, to always have to repump the Train after some switching....)
Keep up the great work on OpR! ;)
Cheers, MArkus

I hope many of you want to achieve this behvaior:
In this example: 3 locomotives with the same orientation (not flipped), but you are able to set up pantographs to (1st loco = 1st panto) + (2nd loco off) + (3rd loco = 2nd panto). Committed as v1802.
To Markus: I'd like to have more options/actions for couplers too. And I think that the hoses connection is related to a coupler and the function of cocks should be considered too. Maybe another "menu" for couplers should be designed. As I said, it's a kick-off.

Does work like a charm, Thanks Matej ;)
Now if it would turn dynamics off/on later when possible.

Matej, wish you had said something before doing this... I'd have suggested dividing the window so those functions done by a man on the ground would be in one window and functions done by a man in the cab in another.
