Thanks for the pics of freight cars. They are very high quality models. I see on Trainsim RU some have 10000 downloads. That is a lot of potential interest and talent if it came to OR.
Is this last "Swallow" the one that exists still in Moldova and Beloruss? There are amazing youtube videos of smoke at full power

This model represents USSR-era locomotive (models+textures are almost 50MB), worked on Moscowskaya Railroad (Uzlovaya depot in Tula's region) (Download)
TЭ3 were filmed last times on Kazakhstanian mineral factories tracks and far-far Northern corners of RZD about ten years ago.
I've seen also the working locomotive video from "parade of rolling stock" in Scherbinka tеst ring, near Moscow (that is believed to be some kind of preserved/museun stock) Here are some more.

Yes, I've tried to shorten my "Active" (unpacked) stock collection, leaving the very best-looking stock models (however, timetable mode experiments have demanded much more stock instances to have, so more stock was added).
And I'm planning to show the other types of freight cars here in future - thanking Your and Tim's (probably many silent other's) interest.
Saying it again, I try to add ORTS functionality (couplers, brakes) into *.wag-files, using include technics, so cars, shown here are on their way towards ORTS.

It's need to say, that the best models are being found on other resources, than TSR: these are RRS(railroadsim.net), Replatek's team site, Vitold Yeldashov (currently, not available) and Oleg Vodopyanov's rolling stock repositories, zdsim.ru site and some other.
Note, TrainZ and TS/Railworks add-ons are also present there.
However, trainsim.ru offers the very vast choice of models, certainly. It is the most known resource.

ТЭ3 (abbreviated from "inTernal combustion-hauler with Electric transmission, 3-rd series) was first after-war 2-sectioned mainline (not shunting) diesel locomotive, inspired by US design (alas, much of russian design work was abandoned after War), having fully-motorized 3-axled bogeys (3₀-3₀, instead of AlCo's RSD with trailing middle axles).

It had nickname "Swallow" (I guess, after traditional painting on it's front, looking as swallow's tail) It was very mass-produced locomotive, which production was started on three(?) plants, ending steam locomotive's production era, following 1955-th "Traction Recorstruction act".

It has 2Д100, 2000hp 2'stroke diesel of Fairbanks-Morse naval design (10 cylinders with two opposite-moving pistons, 2 krankshafts and no separate valves), supercharged by roots blower.

Later, passenger modification (ТЭ7, a.k.a. Seagull) was made (with EP brakes, different gear ratio and more attractive exterior design),

These are the next-step locomotive, having 3000hp 10Д100-type diesel, similar in general to 2Д100, but having paired turbocharger, in addition to mechanically-propelled centrifugal blower. Also, independently-suspended crew cab, made of fiberglass was featured there:

It was a foundation for later 2x3000hp mainline diesels family.

"You" means? Country? People here? Myself?
I have no any preference, based on diesel's type.
(for instance, for avoiding multiplicator gear, there was a tendency to install fast-running, over 2000rpm navy diesels, intended for speed hunting boats, to mainline locomotives and DMU commuter trains with hydraulic transmission; the whole approach have appeared to be not perfect for railroad application, though)
The initial concept, IMO, was simplicity, compactness and light weight of 2-stroke diesels, though, they have shown their bad features, so since 1970-th new locomotives are avoiding 2-stroke, and older are being equipped with new 4-stroke Diesel-Generator Units (usually, of Kolomna-design Д49 model row) during rehaul.
Nevertheless, these most famous and recognizable beasts, as M62, ТЭП60, ТЭ10 of all modifications are 2-stroke.
The benefit of D49 is unified parts of pistons, valves assembly, rods, rings, bearings, allowing to build V-arranged diesels with needed cylinders number, usually 8 (for shunters) to 20 (for mainline giants) and easy repair of any of them with similar spare parts.

Flame... soot and oil condensate have caught fire on the fly. I have seen more calm burning on passing 2ТЭ10В in the nighttime - looks as quite usual thing.
Also, badly maintained engines spit with oil - see tall additional funnels and oil traces on body's sides.

These are last (most recent&advanced) modification of 2-stroke ТЭ10 family - 3ТЭ10У "У" means "universal" i.e. passenger&freight service ready.

But there was a model with detailed textures, so why not to tune it up, to "photograph" in game and to share with mates?
