Hi all,
I am trying to install the fix for the 'Auto Train with Setout" act. I installed the two files into the default US2 route but I still have the problem. I don't have a routes folder in the Open Rails folder. It says to extract into the routes folder. The only routes folder I have is in the default msts main folder. Can some one help me with this? Thanks.
Earl

The two files are to be extracted into the default Marias Pass route. If you use Train Store, unstore the activity first and then allow the new files to overwrite the old ones.

If you do not use Train Store, just unzip the files and allow overwrite. If you do not get a message about this you are not putting the files in the right place.

Also be aware that the original (default) Marias Pass route has a raft of incorrect gradients, they are out by as much as +3%. A replacement MP route is (or was) available from trainsim.com.

Sorry, have to correct you, bazza: Since 2 days ago, it´s actually 4 replacement routes for it out there: the MP3.1, which probably is the one you were talking about, similar to MP3.1, but including also the BNSF Kootenay Sub, the Marias Kootenai route, and in Addition a backdated Version to GN era "Marias Pass 4", plus since 2 days ago, Maria Pass 5.

I don´t know much about the latter, have downloaded, but not yet installed it. Maybe take a look over at the thread concerning this at TS.com:

I placed the two files into USA2, checked to make sure they were in there, tried the act again but the train is still on the wrong track. What could I be doing wrong?

Earl

You are absolutely correct, there is no change in the activity, still starting wrong road.

Hi- I posted the fix, so I will try downloading the files and try them from scratch. I may have had a reference to the new path in my installation that did not get included in the uploaded patch.
In your Paths folder, you should have a path called "autotrn_OR.pat" ( it starts above the switch so that OR puts the train on the right hand track) and in your Activities folder you should have "OR_autotrnsetout.act" that calls the new path. The modified activity will appear in the MSTS list of activities as "Autotrain with Set-out Modified for" below the original "Autotrain with Set-out" activity.

Hi All -
You are right! I just downloaded and installed the patch into a second MSTS installation, and the train starts on the left-hand track, but my main version starts on the right-hand track!
My apologies - hold on until I track down the difference in behavior.

Earl -

It is my goof!

Yes. there was a file missing from the download, and a reference to it in the new activity file. I will see about replacing the bad download with a corrected one.

In the meantime, I will attach a corrected zip file here for you to try. It will overwrite the earlier files.
