Not sure if anyone noticed this but I know its a rather common "problem" with Czech Rolling stock.
Many Czech locos have their brakes configured something like this: Quick Release - Release - Neutral - Apply from 0 to 100% - Suppresion - Continuous Service - Emergency.

Now for those two I have underlined, they don't work with ORTS. On the log files, about these controls I think I only get a report about this neutral one although I think its only because ORTS doesn't read the parameter for this kind of brakes, because a "Neutral" position msut be something like "Lap" position and that is already supported by ORTS.
Here's what the log file says:

Quote

Information: Skipped unknown notch type TrainBrakesControllerNeutralhandleOffStart in C:\MSTS_CZ\Train Simulator-CZ\trains\trainset\cd_749\cd_749246.eng:line 1031

And although it doesn't mention anything about the Quick Release, the eng does have it:

Quote

Brake_Train ( 0 1 0.020 0.87
NumNotches ( 7
Notch ( 0 0 TrainBrakesControllerFullQuickReleaseStart )
Notch ( 0.14 0 TrainBrakesControllerReleaseStart )
Notch ( 0.21 0 TrainBrakesControllerNeutralhandleOffStart )
Notch ( 0.33 0 TrainBrakesControllerMinimalReductionStart )
Notch ( 0.35 1 TrainBrakesControllerGraduatedSelfLapLimitedHoldingStart )
Notch ( 0.87 0 TrainBrakesControllerSuppressionStart )
Notch ( 1.00 0 TrainBrakesControllerEmergencyStart )
)
)

So, should this be reported to the bug tracker?

I used recycled paper...

And then recycled it.

Yes, please. In your report, can you provide a download link to a (free) loco that has these features and indicate what you expect OR to do with them. (I.e. How quick is the Quick Release? Is it instant like Initialise Brakes or does it take a couple of seconds?)

Thanks,

I will do, Chris!
As for the locos, you can get at least of them here: http://trainset.simt...d=cou_lokmot749
You can get any of those 749s or 751s, they all have the same brakes configuration.

Also, in Quick Release the loco releases the brakes more quickly but not in all of a sudden like Initializing Brakes that OR has, it does take some seconds.

Hi all,

Please find below a list of MSTS features which are missing or imperfectly supported in OR. This is a recollection we made on "ASW", the most active french-speaking forum for MSTS and OR. I did not check if some of those points have already been mentioned.
Note that this list also contains a few features which were not supported in MSTS but which could be considered as further improvements.

- Physics
    - Refine the way the vigilance monitor monitor triggers the emergency brake:
the delays for the alerter are those declared in the ENG file. Nevertheless,
the emergency brake is triggered after a much longer time which does not seem
to be related with any variable in the ENG file.
    - Complete the implementation of manual gearboxes and fix remaining issues.
    - Fix issue which limits the speed of any train to 360 km/h (has something to do
      with the adheasion model).
    - Refine braking system (for instance: releasing brakes takes some time on a couple
      of engines/consists).
    - Derailment + change the behavior when reaching the end of a track.
- Cabview
    - Improve the coverage of MSTS cabview animations:
        - The combined control in not properly animated.
        - The engine brake control is not animated.
        - Some animations are not properly placed (we can provide some test cases).
        - Blinking animations ate not handled.
        - From bin-patch: The commands of the doors are not animated.
    - Generally speaking, make the layout and functioning of the cabview closer to MSTS.
    - Operate cabview commands with the mouse.
    - From bin-patch: Provide a mean to change cabview by clicking on the picture of the
engine in view F9 (change with Ctrl-E is sequential and can be tedious).
- HUD
    - Improve track monitor:
        - Display the distance to the next station (could be in view F10 too).
- Shapes and animations
    - Fix remaining issues with (legal and clean) animations of mobile parts (pantographs
      for instance).
- Cameras
    - Allow different parameters (e.g. FOV) for the cameras / take camcfg.dat into account.
- Environment files
    - Support environment files, while presreving the possibility to change some of the
parameters (rain, fog, overcast) during the activity.
- Activities
    - Implement the evaluation summary.

- Some suggestions for further improvements not present in MSTS:
    - A specific handling of the circuit breaker (command in cabview, physics, sounds).
    - Add a specific trigger for the sound to be played when doors are opened/closed.
    - Add a specific trigger for the sound to be played in case of overspeed.
    - Offer more feature to handle embedded signaling system.
    - Handle automatic speed control.
