Booze Bin, eh?

Would that be a tankcar of alcohol?

That's a nice paint scheme. Better than 'previous owner' scheme or the 'solid color dip' that so many places do.

That's my months worth delivery in that tanker, hence why I'm in such a panic now! But seriously, the tanker I believe was a delivery for a farm and feed supply in Angus as I recall. And actually quite a lot of industries southwest of Barrie relied on BCRY getting their goods and supplies to and from the CP mainline. So just shocking when Barrie and Collingwood said they were going to nix it. Now GO Transit has made it back to Barrie proper, one would figure the area is booming? But Barrie's always been the 'poor sod to the north'. It promotes itself as the ideal place for upstart businesses, fabricators, and residences. And for a while they flourish there. Then for some reason, people and business vanish? Becomes this quaint little ghetto for a few years. Then this revitalizing and promo starts again - 'Come to the wonderful opportunities Barrie has to offer! And come ride our brand new tourist train!' All peachy for about 4 months, some come back to ice fish in the winter. Then everyone sees how drab and dreary Barrie looks in the spring, and give up on it all again. And it really is a nice area with a lot to offer - just never takes hold for long.

Ontario's answer to Allentown, PA.

I like the Florida East Coast. It has a fast mainline (60 mph), and several sea ports, so it gets automobile and container traffic. But everything else has a specific destination. These four cars are probably destined for only two locations.

That's a 3000 hp GP40, scooting those cars along a flat mainline. I bet it can get up to that 60 mph in a hurry!

No kidding about over-powered! They probably didn't stay above Notch 2 for very long!

Many of the contributed photos on Hank's page seem to be lacking in caption. I'm looking around to see if I can determine what railroad this is.

A well painted locomotive pulling four virtually identical boxcars? This sounds like something I would model!

The bridge looks pretty new, too. Perhaps the previous bridge was lost in a flood.

***Some more surfing reveals this to be the Old Augusta Railroad, near New Augusta, MS. There seems to be a papermill, and a connection to a Class 1. This is probably the Leaf River being crossed.

I recall the Old Augusta Railroad as of recent construction.

The Bing Bird's Eye view looks as though it's recent construction.

Well, here's a first try on this topic...
Do short passenger trains count as well? :rotfl:
Two different trains I have caught on the same place, with the same class of locos.

CP 5626 with a unusual short freighter (this train should actually bring a huge consist...).

CP 5620 caught with a special train for some even that some company usually uses the railways for transportation. They are usually named as "Life rail" special trains.
