Another note, those wheels look waaaaay oversize for a small Shay of that type.
I'm not trying to build this thing for you but rather trying to get it into a realistic realm.
Go to that link I posted above and look at the first 50 or 60 locos and check out the wheel diameters. :good: Shay wheels were small.

Does it look that unrealistic? Shucks, I guess I'll have to re size the wheels, something I hate to do. Just a lot of guess work. I wish I had more pictures for reference, so some of the parts are not going to be right on with the real thing. Should be close though. Will get to work on that. Here is some pics of the engine in the sim.

Hi Jeff,
I think, the best way is to define the fire door as a mirror.
Door only functioned when the train is standing.
The Shay looks very good. Keep on with the work. :)

Then animate this part with a rotation and an angle of your wish.
A second way is to create the animation directly in the shape file.
Hera a example:

Alright thanks. I'll give it a shot. Here is the latest shots. Almost finished I think. Just a little more detail and that should be it. Got the crankshaft fixed like a 2 cylinder shay is supposed to be. Took forever, and was a pain, but got it done. Also added some lettering in the form of separate shapes and texture file, so if someone wanted to put different lettering, or just have it unlettered, he could alpha the lettering out.
