"WOW" indeed! That's a very inmpressive list. :sign_rockon:

This one was most suprising to me: "Multi-player added which supports any route, rolling stock and activity" -- I never expected to see this item on the change log of one of the 0.x versions.

I really look forward to the next update. :lol2:

So very, very happy the OR team just keeps chipping away at it. Thank you so much OR Team for your efforts.

I'm very excited about what OR can do to the MSTS experience once OR reaches the point that:

* Displays MSTS routes as created in MSTS. (DM's, sound regions, etc.)

* Runs MSTS activities as they were designed in MSTS. (Important seeing that currently OR does not have an "activity editor".)

* Basics in place such as good smoke effects, flexible (tune-able) physics, can run MSTS sounds as designed, etc.

Hopefully, it won't be long and OR will be the most logical successor to the MSTS operating system. (As pertaining to my tastes in simulating.)

I'm still building MSTS routes that I HOPE will someday be able to be used as designed in OR with the added advantages that are being developed into OR. (Such as selectable switches, et al.)

Stay the course team, you're doing great!

OR will VERY likely do a far better job of running activities than MSTS ever could as in MSTS AI trains were little more than mobile parts of the scenery. Early versions of OR that allowed a reasonable running of AI trains showed great promise as the AI trains appeared to be under a reasonable degree of control, and appeared to actual obey the laws of physics.

I am certainly looking forward to the time when AI trains REALLY are AI trains.

I would love to be able to simulate a decent level of traffic flow, lets say Seymour(Vic, Australia) in the 1920s with over a 100 movements in a 12 hour period.

I was involved in work on the activities part of OR and I thought they were pretty much complete.

Where do you think they still fall short?

Hi Chris!

I don't currently have OR installed on this machine... so drawing from memory:

* Do the AI trains stop at a switch not lined for their path?

* If yes to the above, will it resume once the offending switch is lined properly?

* Will AI respond to reverse points placed in their path?

* Will AI wait at meet points as defined by the activity creator?

* Does the player engine coupling onto an AI kill the "AI" part? Thus, once the player cuts away the AI coasts to a stop. Or, in OR will the AI resume its predetermined path? (MSTS w/Bin will NOT do this... so this would be an added-value factor OR would bring.)

I typically enjoy "dark territory" routes (no signals), so the above are very important to me in order to be able to run Time Table trains as well as allowing the Player the ability to keep AI traffic moving that snarls up (by lining the correct switches).

Of course, in the "DREAM MODE", I would hope that "someday" OR will have AI that can set out/pick up cars and otherwise interact with the Player train.

Thanks for your response!

That dream mode, as you put it, is already in Trainz. AI will go around and pick up and set out cars.
I'm hoping OR will do the same one day, too.

Hi Rick...

Yup, that was one item about Trainz that almost lured me in. However, my ancient machine simply won't handle Trainz. Gotta' upgrade "one of these days".

Besides, I have SOOO much stuff for MSTS and am very comfortable with its RE.
