Getting Screenshots in OR

I'm thinking file location and type could be options the user can set from the menu. Would be nice to have a built in screen capture. BTW, nice GS-3.

I have been making some screen captures and appreciate using the PrtScrn key and that it saves the image in documents\my pictures\Open Rails. However would it be possible to turn off the message regarding the capture, or allow it to fade more quickly. I was taking some shots last evening and discovered that the message compounds and appears on each successive capture. I was in pause mode perhaps in takes longer in pause. see the example attached. Also want to say I am a big fan and much appreciate Open Rails Thanks John

I always use alt-print screen.
Usually I'll hit the pause button so I can move the camera around to get a better shot. Alt-Print Screen, then over to irfan and cntl-V to paste the image. Crop as necessary, save it, return to OR, reposition the camera, take another shot, etc., etc. Hit the original camera key to reset it to where I started, then another press on pause resumes everything.

Thanks for the reply, I find your explanation clear and logical but a bit more work than necessary. The print screen works well and puts a file in a directory in "my picutres". The only flaw is the delay in the confirmation message hanging around for several seconds. Now that I know the Key and the directory, I could do without the message. How about an option to turn the message off? John

I use Gadwin Print Screen and it has an option on whether you want to be notified or not. And, I don't.

Rick thanks for the reference to Gadwin Print Screen. I found and installed it. Works like a champ and I can stay with the route and check my shots later, Kind of like in the days of film. John

For some reason, these train simulators won't always take a good shot the first time. I usually take 5 and can get one or two good ones out of 5. They're the only 'games' I've ever had trouble out of.
Had the same issues with Trainz, too. Go figure.
