You can click on a coupler to uncouple it.
You can click on a switch to switch it.
There's holding down the right mouse button to pan and spin your camera view around.

OR does not make any use of MSTS executables or, as far as I know, any files modified by installing MSTSBin. You don't even need MSTS itself if you can get all the content. In cases where you have a choice between pure MSTS or MSTSBin versions of content (e.g. two versions of a route), the MSTSBin version is generally better for OR as the extra features are either already supported or will be supported in the future (obviously you won't be able to run it in MSTS without MSTSBin though).

One item included in the latest release is MSTSBin-compatible handling of the majorty of the engine and wagon lighting.

Is this what was intended? Does the bin setup still work for switching cabs?

Both the head-out views are available on any engine that defines a head-out position and you can switch the engine for each view using the common car-switching keys. They both start in the player's engine, though, so are you sure you didn't move one to the helper engine with Alt+Page Up/Page Down/Home/End?
Cab switching still works (Control-E) and will switch between any drivable engines in the consist. It's pretty much independent of the cameras though (except camera 1).

Your right. That must be what happened cause I just did that with the "ALT" and page up and down. Haha!! Who needs .bin now. Yes! That switches between the two locomotives quite handily. I like head out better than using the incab views anyway. I'm claustrophobic and feel I'm being squeezed when in that view. And looking out that little window in the corner of a steam locomotive cab is like trying to hit a fly on a fencepost at a hundred yards with a slingshot.
Thanks for your time.

It's kind of funny as I was searching for a crossover or turnout to get over on to the adjacent track and OR read my mind and obliged me.
Other anomalies I've noticed are;
1. Dead stops at stop signals even if you decide to ignore them in explore mode in some locations.
2. No derailments no matter what or how fast you hit. In MSTS even though "Derailments" box is unchecked derailments still occur when coupling speeds are to fast. Not in OR.
3. No crashes. I like this!
