Yep, I visit Steam Era Freight Cars quite often, at least once a day. You say Ted Calutta's old site - is it not being updated? Sure hope it doesn't go down, as I get alot of info from there.

Thanks, Tony. it's coming along. I noticed I forgot to add the roof grab-irons on the corners, so that's about it for the 3D aspect of the model. Now for the texturing.....

Hmm....some very useful books there, Dave, albeit a bit pricey.

Well, I've been phiddle-pharting all morning with the weathering. Here's my first successful try (first two didn't turn out so well).

That's some pharting Tim!

Weathering on it's own layer or with the car side color itself?

Thanks, guys. I'm working on another car number with the patch-panels along the bottom.

Dave, I'm working in layers this time , so the weathering is separate as are the lettering and numbers, logo, grafitti, and background layers. The source file is a .PSP file which I save a copy as a .tga for conversion to .ace. I have all the .PSP files with layers intact for all the various USRA single sheathed cars, and will have for every car I produce from now on, so if you (or anyone) want any of these files, just say the word. :D

Hello Tim
I have a nice PRR Decapod that runs on the LPS. It would like to test those boxcars I'm sure.

Cheers Tony

I'll see what I can do about that. I've been running the Deck on the L&PS too.

Wow!!

I've tried to limit my routes (northeast) and eras (1960's) to keep my collection from getting too large, but everytime I look at Campbell's L&PS and Tim Muir's models, I'm thinking NEW COMPUTER!

:D :D
