I have been interested in this remarkable route of the D&RGW both in RL and here in MSTS for some time, and just started to spend some quality time with good equipment, thanks to what has been created and shared here, and wanted to share some of the pictures of Charlie's amazing route, which I just learned he is expanding, which i can't wait for. I played around with making "period' pics using some of the more esoteric filters that Photoshop offers us, and these are just the first of what i hope will improve ...i am possibly going to work to add some details to the route, landscape and foliage as part of my own learning curve on such things and as part of my own research into the history of this remarkable route....which thankfully we still have. In some ways I feel closer to those past times in Black and White.... and it helps the magic of MSTS that conveys scenes of history that we can never see now...
Charlie's Wonderful Durango Silverton Route and the Captain Bazza's K27-454b plus Doug Jones' DRG passenger cars ...i am not confident i have the right passenger sets yet, and need to study much more...but this is a start..ah and the logging cars from thegrindre, perfect for this application.

ooo a mill! fantastic. very nice indeed.:bigboss: I remember a couple of mills in Durango LONG ago, one had one of those towers for burning off stuff, but i have only very vague memories of it, a drag chain up to the tower. Mills are always great buildings very interesting and wonderful for routes. Nice one there indeed.

Thank you Captain. I just downloaded the 460 and she will be running in Durango soon on Charlie's 1.0, I really do appreciate the wonderful quality of your engines, it adds so much to the ambience and the realism of our experience...and I am very thankful. Very.

Silverton is a great route, but do yourself a favor and add the Real Pine texture change.
MSTS Marias Pass Pine Tree Replacements
The “Real Pines” package provides a
realistic replacement for the conifer
textures used in the Marias Pass route. It
updates textures for many different tree
objects, including “tree groups”. The files
are the same size as the originals, so no
frame rate issues are anticipated. By Judd
Spittler, Spittler Engineering.
rpine.zip is available on Train-Sim You won't believe how good the route will look after! I also took some time and fixed all those floating bushes along the edge of the river. It didn't take very long and it made a difference.

I have also upgraded to the pines on Charlies' route and from CrisGers' screen shots I confirmed that there is still one pine tree in the route that has no snow textures and not just my install. In shot #2 the tree in question is seen just ahead of the engine and in #3 and #4 it is about in the middle of the train. Anybody know how this could be fixed? No big problem but they do stand out in snow.
