Two newly rebuilt and delivered GP40-2LWRs wait with a small M-KETMIT-26 before crossing over US Route 2 in eastern Washington. CGN is getting six GP40-2LWRs.

Yeah, nice, Phil- and Rod.

Walking down a hot street with camera in hand, I heard the unmistakable sound of a Pacific Electric trombone, so running to the next street I grabbed a shot of PE 1373 just as she was poking her face between the neighboring buildings:

Catching my breath, I also caught the combine as she creeped across Pacific Ave...

...and pulled to a stop in front of the depot:

after which I hailed a cab to take me south to grab a shot as the train headed south, and then home:

I'll second that. And thanks to Tim and everyone else that makes these things available to us.

There are some that look ar a railroad crossing as an excuse to gunn the engine and get on their way. Then there are others of us that will use any excuse to linger as long as we cn in hopes to see a train, especially perhaps if that train happens to be the "Big Red Cars"!!
