PACIFIC ELECTRIC 0-6-0 No.1509 and tender.
!! FOR OPEN RAILS ONLY!! THE ENGINE WILL CRASH MSTS AND MAKE IT CRY.
THIS IS A BETA MODEL, MAY NOT EVER BE "FINISHED", WHATEVER THAT IS.
This has been languishing on my hard drive a long time and doing nobody
any good, so I offer it here, as is, with old-time MSTS type cabviews
and sounds from earlier NP L-9 models available in this library. It's a
good little switcher and runs well in OR.
It runs well despite it having 182 parts and nearly 58,000P.
This is a fantasy locomotive but is very close to what the PE operated
in the 1940's. The road number is correct in that it's the next
available number in the PE roster for a 0-6-0, if it had but one more in
reality. The model was built from the good old NP L-9 but modified to
resemble an ex-Southern Pacific S-8. I know, "why not build an S-8?"
Well, I just didn't feel like it. LOL! So this is what we get and I
don't think it's too shabby and was fun to do, and that is what I'm in
this racket for. Fun; and I hope you have some while running 1509.
Lots of people to thank, here. Jeff Link for his good old coupler mesh.
Steve Thompson for his gracious sharing of some of his outstanding photo
collection and photo textures. Derek Miller for help with sounds, engine
file and camaraderie. And thanks to all who've sent me good thoughts and
prayers this past year. It's been one helluva year.
I have not used DXT compression on any of the textures this time, so
repaints can be achieved with much less hassle. Feel free to do so!
