COLUMBIA & PUGET SOUND RAILROAD 0-6-0 No.17
Tim W.Muir, builder and painter.
!For OPEN RAILS ONLY!
Built in Train Sim Modeler Pro from the old Northern Pacific Ry L-9 Class 0-6-0 as a base.
Model and textures by Tim W. Muir.
Some weathering and effects textures are from sources found at Textures.com.
"Q" key opens the left hand side windows. "Shift Q" opens the right side windows. "Shift V" raises the roof ventilator. "V" operates the bell animations. "P" opens the left front door, while "Shift-P" opens the right front door. These keys once more pressed reverses these actions.
The tender has the passenger view (key 5), set at the very front so that it puts you, the user, just behind the cab. "Ctrl+V" operates the "vibration" of the train (rocking, swaying, bouncing and nosing) and works well in this passenger view, simulating a rough ride on the tender apron.
History of the locomotive.
Not much is know about this engine, other than it shared the same cylinder sizes, wheel diameter, boiler pressure and weight (roughly) as the NP's L-9's. It appears from three photos that the locos were built by Pittsburgh Loco Works under the auspices of the American Locomotive Company, roughly in the 1905-ish era. The C&PS was renamed Pacific Coast Railroad in about 1917, was sold to Great Northern Ry in 1951.
