PACIFIC ELECTRIC RY CABOOSE #1977
MESH AND TEXTURES ©2007 By TIM MUIR
After the heavy traffic of World War 2, the Pacific Electric was compelled to "modernize" their aging caboose fleet with a motley assortment of used crummies from various sources. This model emulates the 1976 -1985 class purchased from the Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac, built in 1908. Lack of plans means the model does not follow the prototype exactly, but it is very close, using photos to go by. It is built off the Sumpter Valley narrow gauge caboose #5 model, so uses the same texture bases with many changes. It has been heavily modified and resized-up to standard gauge dimensions as close as possible to match available photographs. I think it is a close match to the 1975-class.
Passenger view is in the right-hand rear seat in the cupola, across from Hank the head brakee, head out, accessed by the 5-Key. Keep your eyes on the train and off Rita Hayworth!
Thank you.
