Hello.

The TSRE 3d editor has one big advantage. Since it can be laid down in a real environment, a LOOSE consistot hair can be precisely adjusted. This is important for the Roundhouse. The disadvantage of the MSTS 2d editor is that it is not dimensionally correct. It depicts the MÁV 326 series locomotive with a rectangle the same size as the Big Boy. The former is 15.16 meters long. Big Boy is two and a half times bigger. A solution to this would be nice.
The other thing I would like to request is the application of the incremental list for the station search. The list is empty by default. if I enter the letter B, it jumps to the first word that starts with the letter B. If I type the letter U after it, it jumps to the first word whose second letter is the letter U. There are only 420 stations on the Alföld route. In addition, if the cursor slides out, the list window collapses. So sometimes it is very difficult to find the right station.

Sincerely, Laci1959

I don't have either of those pieces of equipment....can you do me a favor and check the Rectangle dimension size IN the eng files to see if their the same or different??

Hello.

That's what I thought. Unfortunately, there is no Big Boy, so I used the Challenger locomotive published here as an illustration. The difference is clearly visible. Of course, I am aware that the distorted drawing and the real-size drawing are not the same. I myself used both a lot in my work.
It's not a tragic thing, you can live together using the two programs. I just thought I'd write when such serious development is already underway.
The incremental search list window is missing more.
Of course, I checked the dimensions in the eng and wag files.

Sincerely, Laci1959

something like that is already implemented for different other lists, and should easily become available for station names etc as well, ie. searching for track nodes

similar search in the help window to filter on either the name or command (key) of help commands

Is that what you're looking for?

As for dimensions, it should use the data available to give a correct view. Bit different context, but in below image you see tracks drawn with slightly different size (width) of the line - this is actually a change area between narrow gauge and standard gauge, and this gives a dimensional correct view. Similarly consist dimensions will be used (which btw ie. Dispatcher View also does).

Really, many models have wrong bounding box dimensions, if see in *.eng- and *.sd-files.

Hi Weter

I have been in the habit of checking and correcting the dimensions of a downloaded vehicle for a very long time.

Sincerely, Laci 1959

Excuse me, if so.
Then, from where does it take this wrong dimensions, if so?

There's nothing to apologize for. That would be my first thought too.
Why is that so? Maybe the KUJU programmers know.

Would it be useful to have the ORTS Trackviewer use the data -- if available -- from these ORTS parameters:

Comment ( CN Mechanical Department Diesel Unit Data Book Drawing for GR-15a/b Class )
Comment ( Specifications from NYC Dimensions and Classifications Book #387 )
Comment ( NYC Diesel Road Switcher Classes DRS-4A, DRSP4B, DRS-4C page-202 )
Comment ( Frontal Area == cross sectional area == 14.3632 meters squared = 154.6042ft^2 )
Comment ( Mass Range: 240000lbs = 108.8622t to 249000lbs = 112.9445t )
Comment ( 249,000lbs is fully loaded with optional steam generator and ballasted )
Comment ( ORTS Parameters for wagon section of ENG file )
Comment ( include ( "..\\..\\..\\..\\..\\Common.inc\\Locomotives\\CarBody\\EMD_GP7.inc" ) )

    ORTSNumberAxles ( 0 )
    ORTSNumberBogies ( 2 )
