Hi, the X3977 has been fixed to reset the camera. But that's wrong. This was true in the previous version even though the default view when starting the simulation is also wrong. After resetting the camera, the picture was fine. Please look at the pictures.
Please repair. Thanks
Camera reset is not correct in X3977

I think it's a question of points of view, or better of fields of view. With the change I've done the screen shows the same picture at startup and after the reset, which is coherent. Before, as you also said, they were different.
Pls provide me a link to download the trainset and the cabview so that I can have a check. Pls. learn doing that, instead of only asking to "repair".

With what window or full screen resolution did you look at the trainset?

In X3976 under ctrl + 8 was the FOV right or much better as now.

I have checked, but with x.3977 everything is coherent.
Here is a picture with a 4:3 ratio, taken from OR stable release 1.2 (but it is equal in x.3976 and x.3977, and I didn't make any change for this ratio)
Here is a picture with a 16:9 ratio, taken from OR x.3977 (both before and after Ctrl-8). It's the same picture you would have with OR x.3976 before reset.
It perfectly matches the central part of the 4:3 picture.
Here is a picture with a 16:9 ratio, taken from OR x.3976 after Ctrl-8
As you can see, it is not coherent with the other pictures neither with the same picture taken before the reset.
The first picture (4:3) has standard FOV 45 degrees (horizontal 60 degrees). The second picture (16:9) has FOV about 33 degrees, so that they are 60 degrees horizontal to match with the cabview layout. The third picture has FOV 45 degrees, which provides an incoherent view.
Sorry, this loco has a small front window, so you don't see much... If you want to see more, or to have the impression to see from a longer distance, increase the vertical FOV in the Video options. This will proportionally increase also the vertical FOV of the cab camera.

By testing I found the value of 55. It looks fine for me.
Thanks Carlo for help
