Very good, but any way to see people resting or like walk a litle bit and stop, looking around.

Curious how the people animations were done, if anyone knows. I can create a ton
of realistic looking people for stuff like this, but not sure if the animation
needs to be created manually in gmax/tsm/etc.

The program I have can create a mass of people either walking or milling about,
and I can update individual characters with motion capture animations.
(seated, interacting with other character, talking on phone, looking down
tracks from platform, using stairs, etc.)

I'm just not clear if all this can be brought into OR without a lot of
manual tweaking.

Found this link I will download and test the tools. Since OR is on the XNA platform currently,
this could be a real possibility for animated realistic passengers at stations, etc.

I have to research the tools mentioned, but fbx animation in XNA is a viable option.

http://xnagamers.blo...ect-as-fbx.html

Uses gmax and some scripting to generate a binary FBX that XNA can use.

Could be potentially useful for other things as well. :)

(3dsmax pipeline would be faster since no external scripts or utilities
would be required. 3dsmax >> FBX >> OR)

OR and TSRE use only .S shape file format.

1. Is there anywhere to download a set of walking people?

2. The path is placed on a TSRE ruler. Is this left in place when finished? Open Rails log reports "Warning: Skipped unknown token Ruler in E:\1MSTS\ROUTES\Zurich\WORLD\w-005810+014715.w:line 4337" for each ruler left. I don't think this causes any problems though.

Hello.
My name is Wase, and I am the constructor and maker of the "walking people" you can see in GOKUs video.
THANK YOU Goku, for making the "walk spawn"...

The people was made in TSM with the ordinarie script for animation, motion and rotation.
It is about 50 different people today, but I will make more, when we are finished building version 4 of route Stockholm (Stockhomsrutten).
When we realese version 4 of the route, the walking people will be available trough the route.
You can follow the progress of the route at the Swedish trainforum e-buzz.se.

Or, are you interested in that we are showing a part of the route on this forum??

The route is a VERY high density route, at most over 6000 objects on a tile.
It is about 660 km long, going from FLEN to FALUN via centralstation in STOCKHOLM - Sweden.
It also contains a beta part of "Malmbanan" in the North of Sweden, from Kiruna to Narvik in Norway (170 km).

The work version today is slightly over 26 Gb, over 105 000 files...

It is not possible to drive the route with Openrails 32-bit version any longer, we use Carlos OR MG version 64 bit to make it work... :)

Best regards,
Wase

Hey Wase,

It is good to hear form the person who created the "walking people". They are really good, and I look forward to when we can download and use them.

Your Stockholm route sounds amazing, and it's good to see that you are making such a large new route for the MSTS/Openrails platform.

I have made a model of the Steam locomotive "Thor" from Gavle Museum. It might be interesting for someone in your group who is making a historic route for Sweden.

Here is an image of the model. it needs one or two details and it is ready to upload.

Hello, I tried the tutorial, but at the end of the tutorial, when we finished the tour, how do we associate a character with it?
I'm sorry about my bad English!
