Hello,
1.problem
In MSTS all variants (DIAL, DIGITAL, GAUGE) AMMETER_ABS display absolute value of current. In OR display positive current for tractive effort and negative current for dynamic effort.
This setting does not work with dynamic brake.
Dial (
			Type ( AMMETER_ABS DIAL )
			Position ( 212 272 1 7 )
			Graphic ( ../../common.cab/Cab363cd/cd_363_amps.ace )
			Style ( NEEDLE )
			ScaleRange ( 0 1500 )
			ScalePos ( 240 120 )
			Units ( AMPS )
			Pivot ( 11 )
			DirIncrease ( 0 )
		)

2.problem
MSTS uses for tractive effort parameter MaxCurrent, for dynamic effort paremeter
DynamicBrakesResistorCurrentLimit. OR uses for tractive effort and dynamic effort only paremeter MaxCurrent. Can not set different currents for tractive/dynamic effort as in real locomotives.

OR full dynamic AMMETER_ABS not working and AMMETER DIGITAL display 1100A

The AMMETER_ABS issue should have been fixed in x.3629, pls. check.
The other issue is still open. DynamicBrakesResistorCurrentLimit isn't used at all in OR.

These sets still not work for dynamic brake. Display only zero.
                Dial (
                        Type ( AMMETER_ABS DIAL )
                        Position ( 212 272 1 7 )
                        Graphic ( ../../common.cab/Cab363cd/cd_363_amps.ace )
                        Style ( NEEDLE )
                        ScaleRange ( 0 1500 )
                        ScalePos ( 240 120 )
                        Units ( AMPS )
                        Pivot ( 11 )
                        DirIncrease ( 0 )
                )
               Digital (
			Type ( AMMETER_ABS DIGITAL )
			Position ( 280 330 37 17 )
			ScaleRange ( 0 1100 )
			Accuracy ( 0 )
			AccuracySwitch ( 0 )
			LeadingZeros ( 0 )
			Justification ( 1 )
			PositiveColour ( 1
				ControlColour ( 247 39 2 )
			)
			NegativeColour ( 0 )
			DecreaseColour ( 0 )
			Units ( AMPS )
		)

At AMMETER_ABS DIAL zero is the beginning of the scale for tractive and dynamic current. No in the midst of scale.

How to set in OR the different current for tracitve effort and dynamic effort? For the majority of real locomotives is the current dynamic brakes smaller than traction current.

Pls. try x.3630, that should also take into consideration DynamicBrakesResistorCurrentLimit.

Hello,
I tested in version 3630 and 3631. AMMETER_ABS and DynamicBrakesResistorCurrentLimit work very well.
Thank you very much for your effort. I greatly appreciate your time devoted to the development of Open Rails.

I have a question that does not belong to this thread. Mr. Csantucci will you implement this function? For example, by using the checkbox in menu.

For locomotives & trains with this:

Attached Image: P1000803.JPG

It is great,

But for this

Attached Image: AMPERE-AM80.jpg

I have try with this data:

Dial (
Type ( AMMETER_ABS DIAL )
Position ( 371 268 16 32 )
Graphic ( AM80NL-391_amperenaaldrond.ace )
Style ( POINTER )
ScaleRange ( -600 600 )
ScalePos ( 235 125 )
Units ( AMPS )
Pivot ( 24 )
DirIncrease ( 0 )
)

AMMETER works onley in 1 direction (clockwise)

i hope there comes solution for this type AMMETER too & for the KiloNewtons version
Maybe Units impletation.

See my topic of this.

Thanks

If you use AMMETER_ABS you always will have that the needle only rotates in a direction, because the current value is always considered positive...

At the moment I don't foresee this, sorry.
