Those all look great, Brandon. :sign_thanks: :good2:
Since you seem to touch UP on that locomotive, :D we sure could use a more better model for the aging MSTS fleet of Big Boys. ;)
They're good, just it could be made better. Now that things are looking better for more enhanced models with the showing up of OR. Models can be done now with more polygons than were ever thought of in the early years of MSTS.

has been published a model of the Union Pacific turbine 4500 X55.
Is a complex model ( 155,000 pols ) only for OR
Enjoy it.
Regards.

Downloaded this very nice Union Pacific 1st generation Gas-Turbine-Electric. Installed it in Open Rails and it runs quite well. Smoke needs tweaking, too sparse. I added a UP auxillary oil tender and it looks real comfortable on the 3DTrains Sherman Hill route. The custom cabview is quite nice, and the overall detail is fantastic!
I think it is a bit better product than the NALW Big Blow package, in particular as a visual model. The NALW package contains two UP Big Blow turbines, a 4500 HP second generation unit and an 8500 HP third generation A+B pair. The NALW Big Blows also need smoke tweaked (too much).
Well worth a try, Open Rails only. Congrats to the the author, Ramon Tortajada Pastor of Spain.

Wow, very nice!
Do you made the model?

Really professional looking steam locos.
Sergio: Great work, very highly detailed. I especially appreciate the trucks.

Now if there were only an Echo Canyon route we'd be set.
Very nice models!

The gas turbine is a very nice model. I do agree that the smoke needs increasing. That's something I've never edited within a .eng file. How does the line read (so I can find it with a search) and what would be a good figure to increase it to???
Guess while UP "Big Power" has come up, we still need models of the U50 series, the C855's and the DD35 A & B units. Yes, there a models for the U50 and DD35, but, and not deliberately stepping on toes, I was not all that impressed with them.
My friend Jerome and I have considered trying our hand at making all these units, but have yet to complete a car or diesel. (we have several started in various stages of building) We have to see if these come out as reliable working models. All will be OR models.

Well folks I have yet again started another project. This time people may think Im beating a dead horse with this one because its been modeled so many times over the years but its the famous UP 844. Yes we have some good models of it out already but I figured with the new Sherman Hill Route I wanted a nice model to run with it. Not saying that Mike Knotts model or any other model is bad at all I just felt I could myself put more details into the model and make it the way I would like. I also plan on building the water tenders for the locomotive as well. With this model I am not trying to step on anyone's toes here I just felt like building it.

Brandon,
Can I 'pretty please' ask for this model to have an '8444' version? Oh, and a smoke tweak to allow the 'we can blot out half of Colorado' option for fan trip runbys! (I went from Denver to Sterling and back in 1980 - a truly mind modifying experience).

The model shows the turbine after a full refubishment.
In this situation, the smoke emission at full power is almost zero.
But, anyway, if you want most smoke, tweak a bit line 739 of the engine file:
DieselSmokeEffectMaxMagnitude ( 0.5 )
