Well Geoff, We actually have many steam locomotives in the USA that run mainline and tourist lines here too. Just got to know where there located and go out to see them. Thanks and I will be making more as time goes on just trying to get these 2 projects done first before i move on to the next.

Brandon
Thanks to Kalmbach we have the recently updated https://www.amazon.c...eam+locomotives AND still available https://www.amazon.c...eam+locomotives to give excellent reference to the long gone models too.

I'm sure you're aware of these of course but I post the links to try and wean the GEVO fan's off their addiction :lol2:

BTW do you have either the Streamlined Hiawatha Alco 4-4-2 on your "to do" list? ....or even better the streamlined Hudsons that they built when the Hiawatha became so successful that they needed a more powerful loco?

Like many "kettle" fan's my interest is more in the smaller, more common "workhorse" types that the Railways and Railroads used but given that the basic streamlined train is nicely modelled in it's diesel version by BLW the chance to swap the motive power would be great. Those of us who've been around since the start of MSTS probably have (or at least remember) Train Artisan's American Classic set which included versions of the NYC's streamlined Hudsons. Indeed I have this and it's still available as a "legitimate" download if you search around. I posted a link to that over on TS.com after someone implied it was no longer available.

Optimism in a modeler is a wonderous thing. It depends on their sanity range on a given day. Howver, "Sanity Level" is defined thus: it depends whether you are on the Outside of the Asylum looking In; or, the Inside of the Asylum looking Out.

Ahhh, here comes that tough looking nurse, with my midday meds...see ya. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

On a somewhat saner (ahem) note, build up a collection of Model Railroader issues of the 1970s decade; it had some great reference material that decade. Troll the used magazines market. Great fun searching out that elusive issue, or issues.

Cheerzzzzzzzzzzz....

Well Im up late again working on the models. So far here are the numbers I have and I think I may leave it at this. 5100, 5101, 5102, 5105, 5106, 5109, 5110, 5111, 5112, 5113, 5114, 5115, 5116, 5117, and 5119. I figured 15 out of the 20 in the class was good enough. Also the locomotives have slight differences in appearance some dirty and some clean with others a combo of both so you could mix and match if you want. I have also built an Oil and Coal version of the tender since half in the class were oil and the other half were coal. 5100-5109 were the oil burners built in 1944 and then 5110-5119 were the coal burners built in 1946.
