What ATW said about the sum of the tractive effort is another field in the DPU screen. If you go to his post #111, in the third picture you can see this field as "Consist".
About the second question I don't have the answer, since in Brazil the DPU don't have this field "consist".

Back on topic, I'm happy to see the DPU control options in OR. I've only briefly experimented with it, but it should be a neat addition. I like running mountainous routes, where, in prototypical railroading, "building the fence" is commonly used. I have an engineer friend (just recently retired) who spent his career mountain railroading and became pretty much an expert at operating DP units in the mountains.
