Hello,
I am playing quite a lot with timetable now. On the Route I play with there are several stations with multiple patform on one track. I know it is allowed only one stop per station and column. But how to deal with situation when I need to stop at the second platfom? Would be possible to use "platform name" as well as station name or siding name?

Using platform name would cause lots of problems as most stations have unique platform names for each platform.
There's two things that can be done, depending on the situation.
First is to use different station names, allocating the two platforms to different stations. Works fine, but does limit the possible use of 'connection' statements. But, if connections are not used, it is the easiest way out.
The other option is to force the train to proceed through the first platform using a "$keepclear /rear=nnn" statement. The value 'nnn' needs to be set such that the train stops at the further platform. If there is a signal between the two platforms, the qualifier "/force" must be used to make the train pass the signal.
I have used this option on 'split' platforms where the train required the full platform due to its length. I have not used it, though, to force a train to proceed fully beyond the first platform and stop in the second platform, ao I can't be quite sure if that will work.

Rob Roeterdink

Thank you for your anwer Rob,

First option works well for me. I am not using connection at this moment.

Second option works well for AI train, but not for player train. In this case, if the player train stops at the second platform, the station in not registered.

Thank you
Vasi

I'm using this thread to sugest a new feature for timetable mode.

This goes mainly to Roeter, I think.

I sugest that in timetables, you could either explicit an existing consists file (or an arrangemente of consits files), or, you could explicit a consist-list file from which OR would randomly pick up a consist, from a format like
Consistslist1 (
 Consist1.con 0.5
 Consist2.con 0.3
 Consist3.con 0.1
 <Consist4.con>+<consist6.con>+<consist2.con> 0.1
)

And of course create various lists.

the number being the probability of that consist being picked up.
I'd really like to see some of the consists I have vary. In my track I already have about 300 trains on timetable, but I'm always appaled that I already have about 1000 consist files and always wondering how to use them all...
Of course some of the trains I have on timetable have prety complex handlings so, those ones I'll keep a specific consists so not to break the handling of some coaches mid-jorney. But many trains run on that timetable could have diferent consists so that each run doesnt look exactly the same.

That's actually not a new idea, but it has been floating around since the very start of the timetable concept. The original idea was to create a new file-type (consist list), which would contain the list of possible consists, and would be used as alternative to the actual consist file. But the idea of a new file-type was the reason this never came to be, due to the discussions at the time of the format required for new file types. By the time that discussion was settled, the idea had been shifted into the background and never got back on the actions list.
I will keep it in mind but can't make any promises.

Rob Roeterdink

Thanks, Robert.
Indeed, freight trains are most often run in form of variety consists from day to day, so, once that'll be done, I'll welcome that!
Passenger ones are too being formed from different carriages.
