Elvas Tower: CSRR Shay 5 - Elvas Tower

This is a model of the class C 80-3 three truck shay 5.(SN 1503) This shay was built in 1905 for the West Virginia Pulp & Paper Co's route at cass. She is the only shay left out of the some 17 shays built for the cass railroad. She is special in the fact that she is the second oldest shay surviving and the oldest shay in operation on its home rails. Well over 100 years old, she still hauls trains for the Cass Scenic Railroad up the 11% grade at cass.
