Just uploaded. To keep down the weeds, the L&PS had this car built. It is a simple car, based on a flat, with a large tank for the weed killer, and a small air tank to blow the juice through nozzles, fed via underfloor plumbing. The car was pulled along by a loco which supplied the air to the airtank via the brake hoses.

This car would look great on logging railroads too.

Hey, Erik, thanks. I was just going through one of those creative periods, where stuff just flows freely. I'm currently feeling a slump, so I'll take a break again for awhile.

Nicely done, as usual.

Question: what route is this shot on? I'd like to see how the grass was done and I liked that old fence in the foreground of shot #1.

That catenary suggests that it's Wayne Campbell's London & Port Stanley, somewhere on the northern end, given the high tension tower in the background. AFAIK, Wayne is the only one doing overhad like that. If you haven't seen this yet, you're missing a treat. -Phil

Thanks, Dave.

Yep, it's the London & Port Stanley. The location is Yarmouth, on an experimental installation that Wayne sent me, to test his weed objects. After seeing that the weeds have a detremental effect on frames, even on a high-end PC, Wayne is considering using them only around stops and specific scenic areas.

They sure look great, though!

Hi Tim - Great shots!

I have posted a V1.08 update on my website to give everyone a chance to check out the new detailing around Yarmouth siding.

Tim that is a great model and it is in service on my Lost & Presumed Sunk. How ever there are a few pieces of stock that needs to be built. Motors #12 & 14. These were built in 1915 or 17 as I have gotten both years for these cars. They look like the rest of the L&PS cars of that time with two major differences. They were heavier and 10 FEET LONGER than the other motors. These cars also did not have a bagage compartment but passenger steps on both ends. In every other respect they were the same in appearence as the other motors. Now Tim if you are on a MOW roll don't forget FA1 which looked like a green boxcar with a coupolo on top. Or gang car S1 or snowplow SP1. The 4 cars bought in 1941 from the states would be nice. This is the best looking, running, and installing route out there and if Wayne and you are resurrecting a dead rail road, and more power to that as they do live again, a complete roster would be nice. Please I am not flaming any one but offering ideas to make a great route better. If I had the skill and talent I would undertake to make something to bring the route to life in all its true glory.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your comments. I have read your pleas for the heavier interurbans and flanger on other forums. I'm not planning on making any more passenger cars for awhile, and certainly not any L&PS. ( I have too many PE passenger cars and boxmotors that need to be finished). I have been focusing on freightcars and MOW equipment, (because they are so much more fun) so making the flanger, snowplow and possibly the correct linecar are more within the realm of possibility. I am currently looking at a bunch of cars for the next project, and am getting some great photos from Steve Thompson for some Sumpter valley cars that I want to do. And then Wayne has sent me photos of the L&PS SP-1 snow plow, which is a very interesting car, too. Just too many neat things to make, and not enough time, or other folks doing it. :)

Hey David, let me encourage you to download one of the free 3D programs and give it a try. The learning curve is steep, to be sure, but you might find out you've got talent you didn't realise you had. I did ...

Of course, you'll find yourself up to your armpits in interesting projects, like the rest of us builders ... :) ...

BTW, that's a nice cat: is it yours? I keep a couple of them myself.

(coming soon ... no! really! ...)
