The B&O actually experimented with three EM-1's on the head end of a coal drag. Guess they wanted to move that coal.

According to a B&O book I have, they pulled the coupler on the fourth car back. With three engines leading a 60 car coal drag ... still getting 16 fps with my ole 2.2 GHz CPU. Each engine is about 17,700 polys and the tender another 5,000 polys. Not bad for the old girl.

Here's 48 driving wheels generating 345,000 lbs of tractive effort, consuming about 1,000 gal of water every two miles.

As they pass beneath a signal bridge, I really think that man is diminished not be able to experience what this was like in reality!

Man, they look great! What huge engines!
It's really great to see so much new steam in MSTS over the past year!

Cheers!

Chris

If your using a single core 2.2 gig with a good vid card they should work just fine. Your poly count is quite low compared to the SF 2-10-2's
which are very nearly 30,000 faces each which I double and triple head with out major problems. I still use a AMD socket "A" Sempron with
2 gig of gaming ram with a 250 gig ide drive and 512 ATI 1650 pro card as my 3D building system just because it is so reliable. I have 3
very new PC's but they are not as reliable as this system.

Your model looks "VERY" good. It looks like you have been working hard at it. I always wanted to finish that but haven't been able to get past
single frame units. An articulated is just out of my grasp yet. Keep up the good work.

"My model"? Your raw .dst model was absolutely spectacular! I've just stood on your shoulders to be able to share your efforts with the community. Without your willingness to share the .dst files, nothing would have happened.
