Steve Myer's 6.2 meter version of his GE 16-tonner is in the library, and is a welcome addition to the Elvas traction group. Thanks, Steve!

My pleasure, Tim, hope everyone likes the little bugger!

A couple improvements that can be made by users are to reduce the Z-parameter in the bounding box to 2.0 meters:

SIMISA@@@@@@@@@@JINX0t1t______
Shape ( ge16_6_2.s
ESD_Detail_Level ( 0 )
ESD_Alternative_Texture ( 0 )
ESD_Bounding_Box ( -1.339260 -0.018745 -2.0 1.311855 5.954546 2.0 )
)

And if you want to operate the critter through tram track 30 degree curves, open the .eng file and remove the comment lines around the "CouplingHasRigidConnection () ".

I re-lettered my copy for my Oceanside Traction Company as # A4:

Thank you, Tim, I need all the tips I can get. Will the second fix stop the bouncing when I enter a 30 degree turn? That's been a sticking point for me.

It looks great as Oceanside Traction A4. Glad it has a home there!!

Best Regards,

Yep, the removal of the commenting parenthesis surrounding the CouplingHasRigidConnection () statement smooths out that bouncing.

Your little motor is a great little shifter around the carbarns and freight station, where those shots are located.

Tim!!

I've found that if I remove the commenting parenthesis around the line CouplingHasRigidConnection (), any car I try to couple to (using the back coupler) will lurch forward one or two feet to connect to the locomotive. Puttng the commenting parenthesis back in results in smooth coupling. Am I doing something wrong here? It'd be great to sail around those tight curves on the L&PS.

Many Thanks,
62stratfan

I don't know, Steve. I get the same action that you're experiencing, with the NYC boxcar in the screenshots, about 50% of the time. Half the time it lurches a foot, the other times it doesn't, for a smooth coupling. :o Sometimes it seems the sim has a mind of its' own, and doesn't act the same everytime.

I am using Jim Ward's tweaked Default.wag by the way.

Well, that's reassuring, in a way, Tim. At least it's not a "me" thing. Quirkiness seems to be MSTS's most obvious feature. What works great today, fails miserably tomorrow! Oddly, I can deliver a car to those two sharply curved sidings on the L&PS without incident, it's when picking them up that I encounter that bouncing. In fact, it'll stop the train unless I apply 50%-60% power. A strange brew, all right.

Many Thanks,
62strtfan

Yes, I believe that the creators built-in the many wierdnesses that plagues we users -
ever notice the headers in all the files say "SIM IS A-blankety-blank JINX" ? :
