I think I'm in awe of the 41 fps, with all those custom buildings.

You know what does that? The low camera, not the PC. That position works really well when there are buildings like this that shield the view. There are something like 2400 objects on this tile and the one ahead is another 1300, the one to the left is ~1400 objects. This railfan eye level position stuff looks pretty good anyway when things are close. In addition to shielding off so many objects, I think the fact that there are hardly any terrain polys visible helps too... the sky is hardly anything at all, so even tho there is a lot of detail in the visible objects, the overall workload on the sim is light (but pop the camera up 30m and the fps are cut in half). So the trick to getting a high fps like this seems to be simply remembering when and where to shift the camera.
